Memories of Christmas

My memories of Christmas are filled with family, love and music. Growing up in Montreal, a white Christmas was pretty much a lock. Montreal winters were snowy, cold and long. As kids we didn’t notice because we all enjoyed outdoor activities, tobogganing, playing hockey and pleasure skating. Pleasure skating was actually a great and affordable Friday night date for young people. You could pick up your favourite girl, take her to the local rink or pond and skate away the evening, ending it with a hot chocolate and a kiss, if you were lucky.

Live and Alive!!! Come Check Us Out!!!

We’re gearing up for a busy fall and winter season at Don Graham Music. The new CD, working title COUNT ON ME, is heading into the home stretch and we can’t wait to finish it!

Don't Pay the Ransom - I've Escaped !!

Logging on to our website I realized that I haven’t been doing my due diligence as far as keeping the site up to date. Nothing posted since January!! Shame on me! It looks like I’ve disappeared and stopped working. Actually it’s just the opposite. I’ve never been busier. I’ll use that as excuse for not keeping up!
Anyway, here I am and will do my best to catch up.

Another year in the books! Bring on 2011!

This time of year is always a reflective time for me, time to look back on the past twelve months and document the incredible things that happened.

This past year was a great year for me personally as well as professionally. Our first solo CD A WILLING HEART was a huge blessing and made some inroads in the international market that was previously unknown to us. The album was released in April and is STILL moving comfortably in the various charts.

The Brotherhood of Musicians

The bond that’s formed between musicians, entertainers and singer/songwriters is a pretty incredible thing to witness. I’ve had talks with pro athletes, football players, hockey players, who say that the unity formed with teammates can last a lifetime. Music people experience much the same bonding. There is the dark humour, almost like locker room humour in the music fraternity, going to see another band in a club setting and saying things like ”Play the one you know!’ and other good natured jabs were commonplace in the old club days.

End of summer, time to wrap it up and move on to the next phase!!

Performing In Norway

Did you all miss me? Guess I haven’t written here for a while, reason being I‘ve just been too busy. But now summer is over and we put our snow tires on and get ready for the fall winter season at Don Graham Music!

Nashville, We’ll be right back!

Don at the Nashville Palace

It’s been a couple of weeks now since the Cashbox Magazine Mothers Day Showcase on May 9th, 2010. It was a great trip and an amazing event featuring some really fine talent and some truly wonderful new friends were made. Whoever said “getting there was half the fun” perhaps should have rephrased it “SOMETIMES getting there is half the fun.” I won’t go into details but suffice to say that because we booked late due to the uncertainty of the date we ended up getting flights that took us the long way around! Fourteen hours of travelling for a two hour direct flight.

A Beacher Feature At The Beacher

The Beacher Cafe

On Thursday May 13th, we got to have a CD party at my favourite restaurant in my neighbourhood, The Beach, in the east end of Toronto.
